"What's a good Hyrox time?" It's the question every first-timer asks. The honest answer: it depends. We synthesized ~50,000 publicly available finish times from the 2024-2026 seasons to answer cleanly, by division, gender and percentile.
- Singles Men median (2025-2026): 1h21. Singles Women median: 1h32.
- Top 10% Singles Men: sub-1h05. Top 10% Singles Women: sub-1h15.
- Doubles Men median: 1h05 (12-18 min faster than Singles).
- Singles Men world record: 51:59 (Rončević, WC 2025).
- Singles Men median improved by ~3 minutes between 2023 and 2026.
Methodology
We aggregated public HYROX 2024-2026 rankings available on the official HyroxResults.com result pages and public season recaps (HyroxDataLab, race recaps, championship rankings). Total volume ~50,000 distinct finish times, across all 7 official categories.
Known biases: athletes who DNF (Did Not Finish) aren't included (~3-5% of starters depending on the race). Some small-roster races (US regionals 2024) are under-represented vs the Major Series. Percentiles are rounded to the nearest 30 seconds for readability.
There's no 'good time' in the abstract
Hyrox blogs love to declare "sub-90 = good time, sub-80 = competitive." Too simple. Three things change everything: race context (floor, temperature, density), your age bracket, and what you're after (finishing, performing, winning your category).
We'll present by percentile, not by judgment. P10 = your time puts you in the bottom 10% (90% of finishers are ahead). P90 = your time puts you in the top 10%. The median (P50) is the middle finisher: at median, you're exactly in the middle of the pack.
Singles Men — distribution by percentile
The most popular category (~18,000 results across the period). Typical bell-shaped distribution with a long right tail toward 2h+. The 2025 world record is 51:59 (Roman Rončević); the median finisher times in ~1h21.
| Percentile | Finish time | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| P99 (top 1%) | 0:58:00 | Elite. Aim for pro division. |
| P90 (top 10%) | 1:05:00 | Very competitive. Age-group podium possible. |
| P75 | 1:13:00 | Above average. Serious. |
| P50 (médiane) | 1:21:00 | Right in the pack. Solid finisher. |
| P25 | 1:32:00 | Below median. Clear room to grow. |
| P10 (bottom 10%) | 1:48:00 | Tough but respectable for a first Hyrox. |
Singles Women — distribution by percentile
~8,000 results across the period. Distribution similar to Men but shifted 10-12 minutes upward. Women's median sits at ~1h32. Top 10% is sub-1h15.
| Percentile | Finish time | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| P99 | 1:05:00 | Elite. Pro division level. |
| P90 | 1:15:00 | Very competitive. Top 10%. |
| P75 | 1:23:00 | Above average. |
| P50 | 1:32:00 | Median. Solid finisher. |
| P25 | 1:43:00 | Below median. Clear room to grow. |
| P10 | 2:00:00 | First Hyrox finished. That's the point. |
Doubles Men + Women
The Doubles format lets partners split stations (and certain runs) in relay. Result: ~15 minutes faster median vs Singles. But coordination becomes the limiting factor. A poorly synced team can do worse than a well-prepared solo athlete.
| Percentile | Doubles Men | Doubles Women |
|---|---|---|
| P90 | 0:58:00 | 1:08:00 |
| P75 | 1:01:00 | 1:13:00 |
| P50 | 1:05:00 | 1:18:00 |
| P25 | 1:11:00 | 1:26:00 |
| P10 | 1:18:00 | 1:32:00 |
Pro Division — the elite tier
Pro = heavier loads (sled, wall balls, sandbag) and a higher physical bar. ~3,700 athletes total over the period (2,500 Men + 1,200 Women), a niche category populated by former endurance and strength-sport athletes.
| Percentile | Pro Men | Pro Women |
|---|---|---|
| WR | 0:56:01 (McIntyre) | 1:05:21 (Meier) |
| P90 | 0:58:30 | 1:08:00 |
| P75 | 1:03:00 | 1:13:00 |
| P50 | 1:08:00 | 1:18:00 |
| P25 | 1:14:00 | 1:25:00 |
| P10 | 1:18:00 | 1:30:00 |
Evolution 2023 → 2026: are humans getting faster?
Yes, but it's a combination of factors, not a pure physiological improvement. Here's the Singles Men median by year, on comparable populations.
| Year | Singles Men median | Singles Women median |
|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 1:24:00 | 1:36:00 |
| 2024 | 1:22:00 | 1:34:00 |
| 2025 | 1:21:00 | 1:32:00 |
| 2026 (partial) | 1:20:00 | 1:31:00 |
Three complementary explanations: (1) better-prepared athletes drawn to the sport by its growing visibility; (2) Hyrox-specific programming spreading (compromised running, loaded lunges); (3) pro records pulling the standard up by aspiration effect.
Variations by race and conditions
Not all Hyrox races are equal for pacing. Here are the observed variations by context.
| Variable | Effect on median |
|---|---|
| Parquet floor (vs expo carpet) | -1 to -3 minutes |
| Temperature > 22°C / 72°F | +2 to +5 minutes |
| Crowded box (station queues) | +30 to +90 seconds |
| Altitude > 1,500 m / 4,900 ft | +1 to +3 minutes |
| World Championships (qualifier filter) | -3 to -6 minutes (selected population) |
What coaches should take away
- Target the age-group median, not the general median. A 45-year-old aiming for 1h21 is targeting the general Men's median, not the 45-49 median. Shift your goals by decade.
- Moving from P50 to P75 is one cycle's work. Realistic over 12-16 weeks of Hyrox-specific programming. Beyond that (P90+), 2-3 cycles + good cardio genetics required.
- Don't oversell sub-60 to a recreational athlete. Sub-60 Singles Men = top 1%. Promising it without a real athletic background = guaranteed credibility loss.
- Doubles: optimize coordination, not solo capacity. Program team sessions (simulated relays, timed transitions). That's what separates the top 25 from the top 100 in this division.
Our Hyrox pace calculator converts these percentiles into a station-by-station race plan. Move the slider to your target and get your split per km.
ZON bakes these benchmarks into hybrid programming
Coaches: use these percentiles to set realistic targets for your athletes. The ZON builder pre-loads them into Hyrox programs.
